Installation

Install Nella on your Mac

    Download the disk image

    Click “Download for Mac”: the .dmg file lands in your Downloads folder.

    Drag Nella to Applications

    Open the .dmg, then drag the Nella icon into the Applications folder.

    Open Nella

    Launch it from Applications or Launchpad, then sign in or continue without an account.

Which version of macOS do I need?

macOS 12 Monterey or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later).

My Mac has an Intel processor. Can I use Nella?

The desktop app is built for Apple silicon. On an Intel Mac, use Nella in your browser: it’s the same assistant, with the same account.

Is the Mac app free?

Yes. You can use Nella Quick for free: without an account for your questions and web searches (20 messages every 3 hours), or with a more generous Free account, which also lets you build websites and apps. The Pro and Max plans add the more powerful models.

How do updates work?

Automatically, with Sparkle. Nella checks for new versions, verifies their signature and installs them for you.

Which keyboard shortcuts can I use?

⌘N opens a new conversation, ⌘, opens settings and ⌘W closes the window. The usual editing shortcuts (⌘C, ⌘V, ⌘Z…) work too.

Are my conversations the same everywhere?

Yes. Sign in with the same account and your conversations and plan follow you on the web, iPhone, Android, Windows, Linux, VS Code, browsers, JetBrains IDEs and Microsoft Office.
