Accounts and guest mode
Can I use Nella without an account?
Yes. The “Try Nella” button opens the app directly: 20 free messages every 3 hours with Nella Quick, for your questions and web searches. Website and app creations need a free account.
Where are my chats kept without an account?
Only on this device, in this browser. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, they’re no longer available.
Why create an account?
A free account lets you build websites and apps, gives you more generous everyday use and keeps your chats: you find them again when you log in. It also gives access to the Pro and Max plans.
What do I need to create an account?
Your name, an email address and a password of at least 8 characters. It’s free, no credit card needed.
How do I log out?
In the app, use the log-out button at the bottom of the chat list.
Limits and plans
How do the limits work?
Your usage is counted over a 5-hour window and over the week. Both counters reset on their own.
What happens when I reach a limit?
You can’t send messages until the next reset. The app shows when you can start again.
Do the limits depend on the model?
Yes. An answer from Nella Expert uses more of your limit than an answer from Nella Quick.
How do I pay for Pro or Max?
From the Billing page of your account, on the web or in the desktop app: by credit card, in Canadian dollars. On iPhone and Android, subscribe on the web: it applies right away on all your devices.
Do prices include taxes?
No. Prices are in Canadian dollars, per month, plus applicable taxes.
Creations
What is a creation?
A website or app that Nella writes in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. You try it in the Preview tab and read its code in the Code tab.
Which plans include creations?
Every plan with an account, starting with Free, with Nella Quick. Without an account, creations aren’t available. Pro and Max add the most powerful models for more ambitious creations. Downloading creations as a ZIP is included in Pro and Max.
How do I change a creation?
Just ask for the change in the conversation. Nella produces a new version.
Can I get the code?
Yes. The Code tab shows the full source code, which you can copy and use wherever you like.
Privacy of isolated creations
What is the isolated frame?
Each creation runs in a frame separated from the rest of the page, with its own rules. It works like a separate page.
Can a creation see my account or my chats?
No. It has no access to your session, your cookies or the Nella page that displays it.
Can a creation load online resources?
It can load public resources, such as a font or an image. It stays isolated from your account in every case.
